"There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing." -Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
Placating terrorists, meeting with dictators, compassion for murderers... but no humanity for the unborn... incredible.
OOT
Perhaps that is the problem - people just don't care anymore .
I do! Sometimes I'm a little slow to see and respond to things. Actually, I should be in bed right now....
But you are right, Ad. It appears that while 4,000 babies were being murdered in the time it took for the inaugural spectacle, our fine country is more concerned about Michelle Obama's fashion sense. Seems J Crew's website crashed because of the number of people trying to buy the Obama girls' inaugural outfits. Excuse me while I puke and weep.
Re: The new October revolution Actually I was pondering - for us , no news seem to be good news .
I can stop posting if you are not confortable with that reality check Michael - but let me tell you something .
This week my oldest relative died - she endured much ( WW2, total loss of property , persecution by soviets and after that the communists and so on ) - still she remained cheerful until the end . A few generations earlier the land was pillaged by the turks , and before that it was a war zone between empires , plagued by malaria ( huge swamps ) . The Balkans are once again a powder keg , Turkey is becoming the caliphate ( see the recent trials against the secularists ) , and the region will be once again ravaged by war - people will be indeed cleansed by fire .
I see the world from a very diffent perspective than yours - for you the road rage is obviously not describing , let's say , ambushes over gas during the embargo in Serbia when even the grandmas were carrying AK-47s .
I had problems with HT in that regard - he married an atheist korean wife while being an orthodox in Florida . Multiculturalism is nice only for a few generations , but try to tell that to the people of today who want "diversity" and instant gratification while ignoring the fate of their own world .
So perhaps you understand me now - these news are for me business as usual , like slavery , poverty , disease and war were for my ancestors . I'm just preparing myself to do my part when the time comes , because a nice life on this earth is just an illusion , and the tribulations are the real proving ground .
Re: The new October revolution I don't disagree with anything you are saying, AD. If anything you are preaching to the choir. I hope things don't get as bad I as I expect them to but I don't think that America's fate can be avoided any longer. We will go the way all the empires have gone before. We consume more than we produce and we pretend we can run the world and provide comfort and security for all. It is all illusion. In the end, we will understand again that God is the reality. For my own lot, I would not be surprised if at some point I end up in a camp or am killed by my own government. I would not make a very good communist.
Re: The new October revolution Actually Michael death is not the worst fate in communism - one may end up being reprogrammed in a reeducation camp ( romanians were the best , chinese a close second - they ran a series of experiments so evil that the overseers themselves were killed later by the security services because the outcome was mentally unstable ) - one of my best friends encountered such zombies while being a political prisoner in another camp . They actually won the battle against themselves and loved Big Brother - really . Others went insane or killed themselves .
You may want to ponder the alternatives concerning relocation .
Re: The new October revolution Relocation? Could I stay with you? Frankly I cannot think of anywhere else to go. Neither Canada nor Mexico would work anymore. Canada will extradite refugees and Mexico is becoming far too dangerous, especially for gringos.
Re: The new October revolution Have you ever seen the movie Casablanca? In the movie people are transiting through Casablanca in North Africa from different parts of Europe trying to arrange passage to America, to escape the tyrannies in their own countries. That is now ironic.
