Re: Muslims open a new front
quote: But Christianity does not come with an economic or energy element, key for China's rapidly expanding economy.
Trade with Christian countries is arguably more important to China than oil-supplying Muslim countries are (who buys more of the stuff the Chinese burn the oil to manufacture?), but Christian countries don't seem to care to insist on respect for the rights of Chinese Christians as much as Muslim countries care about Chinese Muslims' rights.
Still, it's a volatile situation out there in Xinjiang with the native Muslim Uyghurs anticipating becoming a minority in their own land as Chinese flood in. If the need to soften up Middle Eastern governments keeps the Chinese government from totally riding roughshod over the Uyghurs, that'd be a good thing.
On the other hand, it's sad that Christian countries hungry for Middle Eastern oil are willing to abandon Christian minorities (native Arab Christians and Christian guest workers) to their fate in increasingly intolerant Muslim societies.

Believe me - they will not sit idle - just look at Kirkuk or Bosnia for a glimpse of things to come . I'm sure foreign jihadists and oil money will arrive in W China shortly - and with a nuclear-armed Middle East the situation will be volatile .

It seems the European nations (I include the U.S. in that term) have no problem abandoning Christians in the Middle East and in China to their fates as long as there is profit in it.

Bethlehem was predominantly Christian for TWENTY CENTURIES until we meddled and now its becoming Muslim. What a disgrace.

Michael , the west is a mostly a modern-day Capernaum . Sadly , they will have to fight for their own survival very soon . That may even end in nuclear fire ...

I want perpetrual adoration chapels in evey airport
What gets me is they complain about feeling marginalized. Maybe that is unusual in Muslim countries, but it is the norm in the west for a great many people, especially pro-life people of faith.

Re: I want perpetrual adoration chapels in evey airport
Michael,
in Indonesia, all airports (indeed most all public places) have rooms where Muslims can do their daily prayers, including the facilities for doing the obligatory washings beforehand.
McDonald's restaurants in Indonesia have sinks outside the restrooms so that Muslims can purify themselves before eating, which I believe is also an obligation.
And Indonesia is relatively secular compared to Saudi Arabia or Iran.

Muslims open a new front
"What gets me is they complain about feeling marginalized. "
Of course - they want a country living under sharia law , nothing less . And many of them are ready to die for that , unlike our useless lukewarms .
Indonesia is only one example of islam influencing more and more the society . The idea is simple - threaten the secular-minded people , blame and persecute the other faiths , bomb a few places , until the enemies are scared and evacuate the country .
Islam is advancing , from Africa to SE Asia , slowly crushing other regimes , from Somalia to Bosnia to Pakistan to the suburbs of Paris - and even in Minessota I heard . And we ( westerners ) just sit here writing our obituary ...
