Re: Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
The birthrate in Russia is actually jumping lately . I expect the government there to ban abortion and contraceptives if they feel threatened .

Re: Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
I did some research this week on birthrates by nation and virtually every country in Europe is below the 2.0 rate needed to keep from having a falling population. Even more surprising is that most of the EU nations fall well below the 2.0 rate!

Re: Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
I read on the Catholic World News site that the Pope is praying that the Anglican Communion not have a schism. This news report was then followed by what amounts to an editorial trying to explain what the Pope did and did not mean by his statement, but I was still a little mystified by Benedict's statement, as a schism in the Anglican Communion would potentially cause some to "return home to Rome". Michael, I know you follow said website. What did you make of the Pope's statement?

Read "America Alone" by Mark Steyn, Nord. I think AdMaj would find it interesting too.
Even if the rate were high enough for replacement (2.0) it still lags way behind the growth rate of the Muslim minorities. In the EU that is something like 4.5 or more and it's about the same in the former Soviet Union.
There cant be a Europe or a Russia without a majority of Europeans and Russians.

Again , there were worse times - the siege of Vienna for example . \All we need is ironically the rule of law for now , and in 50 years we will need a crusade .

Re: Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
Sometimes, when faced with death, animals just go into a trance-like state and stop struggling against their predators. I am not convinced that all but a small number of people will be transfixed and helpless when they see doom approaching their own culture and society. Denial seems to be human nature.

Re: Anglican bishops in secret Vatican summit
You are right about the secular-minded people , but they are by default irrelevant because they think only about the present even with no enemies in sight .
