Re: The new October revolution
Maybe. Do you think the proper decision is to flee persecution, especially if the persecution is for Christ's sake?

Re: The new October revolution
That was a quote from the movie Michael - we are both cautious people btw
Actually I'm not fleeing anywhere . My grandparents had the opportunity to escape communism by fleeing to western Europe , and they declined . I like the area - the natives endured paganism , islam and communism , and I can trace my lineage back to the 1600s
I presume your ancestors came from Europe ?

Re: The new October revolution
The american banks are about to be nationalised
"Well, whatever you want to call it,” said Ms. Pelosi, Democrat of California. “If we are strengthening them, then the American people should get some of the upside of that strengthening. Some people call that nationalization."
"“I’m not talking about total ownership,” she quickly cautioned — stopping herself by posing a question: “Would we have ever thought we would see the day when we’d be using that terminology? ‘Nationalization of the banks?’ ”"
"Nationalization, said Charles Geisst, a financial historian at Manhattan College “is just not a term in the American vocabulary.”
“We think of it,” he continued, “as something foreigners do to us, not something we do.” "
"“We told the Asians that they had to be willing to let banks and companies fail,” said Jeffrey Garten, a professor at the Yale School of Management and a top official in the Clinton administration. “We warned that there was great moral hazard if governments just bailed them out.”
“And now,” he said, “we are doing the polar opposite of our advice.”

I must confess I am tempted to call you comrades .

Re: The new October revolution
From the forums
"I believe, we could have worked through this “crisis” by keeping our free enterprise/limited government ideals in tact, by tightening our belts and by providing judicious relief to tide-over the unemployed and the foreclosed. Obama’s present bailout amounts to massive government role-building, redistribution, reparations, military retreat and national bankruptcy; he would build a new America on the ruins of the old, the America envisaged by his radical Chicago mentors. Re: The new October revolution
Memorable quotes for
"Amerika" (1987)
Peter Bradford: If you'd landed troops on the beaches, maybe it would have been different.
Colonel Andrei Denisov: What we did not expect was that, without communications, the United States would revert to a collection of separate peoples.
Peter Bradford: You just got the drop on us.
Colonel Andrei Denisov: [shaking off the suggestion] I don't believe it. It worked because you lost your country before we ever got here.
General Petya Samanov: When you lose and fail, it is understandable. When you win and fail, that brings madness.

I don't think I ever saw it. Funny that it came out two years before the wall came down.

Re: The new October revolution
Be ready for a rerun Michael
"At summit, Obama gets friendly with Chavez"
"Obama exchanged handshakes and pats on the back with Venezuela's Hugo Chavez"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090418/ap_on_go_pr_wh/cb_obama_summit
Maybe the half-orc needs some tips for eliminating those pesky gringos who are going to hell according to Chavez . That in between praising the glorios advent of communism in the Americas .
