A suggestion made with the best of intentions
Since I'm brand new here, I'm reluctant to offer suggestions for fear of sounding critical right out of the chute, but can we discuss the color scheme?
When I first saw the board I was impressed with the black background and yellow/red text. It looks quite stylish and chic, but after reading a few posts, I find that my retinas are all but burned out. While scanning over the previous posts, I find myself skipping over a lot of some of the longer ones, but only becasue of the light show. I would hate to miss out on some of the more important points of the discussion.
It's just a suggestion, and again not out of any impious criticism, but I was thinking maybe a parchment-colored background with dark brown text. Only because it would be easier on my eyes.
Regards,
Some Pretentious New Guy

Re: A suggestion made with the best of intentions
Hi HT,
Thanks for your suggestion. This is exactly what this part of the forum is for. Suggestions and ideas, so please do not fear speaking your mind my friend.
When you say parchment colored background, which specific colors did you have in mind?

Wow! Ask and ye shall receive!
Thank you for taking my suggestion without offense. There are so many posts I'm going to go back and read through now.
When I suggested "parchment" I was thinking of a sort of light beige background with medium to dark brown font. I've seen web sites with that layout before, and it makes it so much easier on the eyes.
Again, thank you for not taking offense at my suggestion.

No need for thanks HT. I want you to feel totally comfortable here at SHJIHM.
How does everyone else feel about the color change?

Tony - I love the color change. My eyes are light sensitive and the new colors are good for me. - Nord

Tony,
The black text - links I think - against the dark cloud background barely show up. Maybe if the text were lightened up a bit. Even this text against the red is not easy to read.

Michael, I inversed the colors of the cloud background. That should take care of the links showing up in the main forum. How does the text look now when reading posts?
